This blog contains only a few examples of art created by Miss Nester's and Mrs. Simanis-Laimins' art appreciation classes. Most art was created using colored pencil and oil pastel on board. Some students used colored pencils or collage images in order to express their perspective on what the Lane Tech Native American means to them.

The Shine of Success

The title means that every person has a shot at success. The Lane Indian represents Lane Tech as a whole, and the there is a chance of success for everyone. I drew the snakes all around showing that temptation is everywhere. I learned that Native Americans use a lot of symbolism in their art. They are mainly portrayed as hard workers.
